Hi, everyone. :) I'll be moving to Orlando in a week, after I graduate from FSU. I just have a quick question for you guys, as my boyfriend (who has lived there for 5 years) and others have no idea, lol.

Is there a place to recycle in Orlando? The closer to the university, the better, as we'll be living down the street from it. There is recycling in Tally, but no one seems to know if there's anything like that in O-Town.

Thanks, everyone, and I look forward to learning more about living naturally in Orlando!

Bottles and cans, definitely. You can put them in bags and leave them by any Republic dumpster on the campus. (They're the brown ones; you'll see them everywhere.) I believe you can also do this with cardboard. You probably know that Publix will take back plastic bags and I think egg cartons. As far as paper and newspaper there are a couple places within the school where you can drop stuff off, but you'd have to actually park and go in, whereas the bottles and cans you can just drop off. Unfortunately I never saw an apartment complex that did a damn thing to recycle while I was living there. =/

Yeah, we're living in "student" housing (the Lofts), and it doesn't look like they recycle at all. I knew about Publix's plastic bags (not the cartons! I'll ask!), but I didn't know about the on-campus sites. And Matt said there's nowhere on campus to recycle. :P

I'm going to miss Tally, with its recycling facilities and on-campus recycling. ::wistful::

I should clarify bottles - I meant just plastic ones, I think 1 and 2. Glass I don't think they take.
